Lord Ethan Cross finds himself transplanted
from his country estate in Yorkshire to the Upper East Side of New York where one after the other, New York City heiresses
are dropping like sacks of diamonds from the top of a gilded staircase.
The Heiress Murders is one in a series of “Cocktail Murders” where Lord Cross, Smythson Panama Jotter in hand,
solves the unsolvable crime. A mix between Hercule Poirot, Nick Charles and James Bond, Lord Cross brings back the thoughtful,
clue-finding detective (although not a real detective, but a member of the House of Lords and an Oxford University Professor
specializing in Criminology). His sidekick is his dramatic aunt, Lady Christine Harrison, a once famous film actress
now in her 70s, sharp witted and always in the mood for a drink and the latest gossip.
The Heiress Murders includes: NYPD police corruption, an exclusive underground sex club dating
back to the 1600s, present day financial world issues, and international scenes.
